Engineering Manufacture Technician Level 4 Apprenticeship City of Bristol CollegeAn employee in this occupation will be responsible for the quality, safety and delivery of the manufactured product or service, ensuring it is delivered to the customer on time at the agreed cost. They will typically report to an engineering or manufacturing manager as part of a cross functional team, the size of this team and responsibilities will vary depending on the size of the employer. Although working within defined quality processes and procedures, they are responsible for the delivery, quality and accuracy of the work they complete. They have the autonomy to use judgement when undertaking the occupational duties and applying their technical knowledge, skills and behaviours in a wide range of contexts and environments. They use a range of tools and techniques to support decision making and solve problems that are often complex and non-routine. They also have a responsibility to identify and contribute to making improvements such as business processes, procedures, ways and methods of working.

Who is this course for?
This apprenticeship will give you the qualifications, hands-on experience and confidence to lead you into a career in engineering.
You will become a high-grade technician or engineer with practical skills, combined with a higher education qualification. This qualification will help you progress to Level 5/6. You will work towards Incorporated Engineer status.
It will give you the technical and practical skills required to work within the area of engineering that relates to your apprenticeship.
You must be prepared to commit at least three years to the course and maintain motivation throughout. You will need to be capable of using your own initiative.
What you'll learn
On this course, you will complete:
- A HNC in a relevant engineering discipline
The Engineering Level 4 Apprenticeship will give you the specialist skills and knowledge you need to be successful in your engineering career.
Course entry requirements
Individual employers will determine their own entry requirements, but the typical entry requirements for this Apprenticeship will be five GCSEs or equivalent, including Maths, English and a Science; or a Level 2/3 Apprenticeship.
How is the course delivered and assessed?
Alongside your employment as an Engineering Level 4 Apprentice, you will attend sessions at City of Bristol College and online. These sessions are tailored to complement your on-the-job learning.
You will finish the apprenticeship with a range of skills, techniques and personal qualities you need to become a successful engineer.
You will learn from our experienced and supportive teachers.
You will be assessed through observations, assignments and online assessment.
The duration of the apprenticeship is determined by a number of different factors such as experience and prior learning. The minimum time of an apprenticeship is 12 months with the maximum being identified on an individual basis.
Future career and study opportunities
On completion of this qualification, you could progress to degree-level study. You could also undertake further industry-specific qualifications to enhance your role and position within the industry.
